How to get
help from the Daniel Lee Dorward Fund:
The Fund is a charity of last resort, designed to help families cope with the day-to-day and extraordinary costs of having a sick child.
If you are a family who has a sick child who is a frequent patient at a children’s hospital, or if you know of someone in this situation, ask your physician for a referral to the children’s Social Work Department. The social worker will first explore all other sources of assistance, and if the assistance available does not address your needs, you will be referred to our charity.
Many organizations offer support for children suffering from a particular disease, and those agencies may offer some financial assistance or have information regarding support groups. You may contact them directly or ask your social worker for more information.
