• Because We Care Charity Challenge
November 29th, 2003
Safeway store at Ness and Sturgeon.
Do your shopping, have some fun, and support a great charity all at the same time! This is the event where bills can be rounded up to the nearest dollar and the proceeds go to the charity. Come out and enjoy coffee and cake, a magic show, meet some Winnipeg celebrities (James Murphy and Jim Rondeau, and maybe others). There will be face painting and clowns for the kids.
• "Surf's Up"
at Celebrations Dinner Theatre-
Canad Inn 1824 Pembina Hwy
January 28th, 2004
Cowabunga! The surf's up and it's time to return to the endless days of summer at Bongo Beach right at the secluded tip of Lake Winnipeg, where the waves are always 30 feet high. Join Annie and Frankie and their collection of beach buddies and surfer girls on the last weekend of summer at the annual Hula Hula dance. Join the kids as they surf, suntan, groove out, limbo, fall in love, do the swim, wipe out, break up, make out and drink strange cocktails from coconuts. Little do they know that this may be the last summer of their youth as a business interest from the big city has plans to take over the waterfront and turn it into a giant shopping centre. Can the kids save their beloved beach? Will their way of life be gone forever? Or even worse, does this mean they'll have to get summer jobs? This is a loving tribute to all the innocent beach movies of the sixties featuring all your favorite summer hits throughout the years.
The tickets are $50.00 per person – which includes tax and gratuity, dinner, and the show. Save the cost of tax and gratuity by attending this show only! Tickets are available by contacting Donna Dorward at 837-6038 or by e-mail at
dorwardd@hotmail.com Tickets also available at the Safeway store on Sturgeon and Ness. This would make a great Christmas gift. Buy your tickets at Safeway on November 29th and be entered to win a prize.
